Metal Roofing
Corrugated metal and R-panel are cost-effective options for barns, detached shops, and covered patios in Mooseheart. We install 29-gauge and 26-gauge corrugated with exposed fasteners using neoprene washer screws. For homes, we recommend 24-gauge standing seam with concealed fasteners. Cleaner look, no exposed fastener maintenance. DaVinci composite shake and slate profiles give you the metal longevity with a traditional Illinois aesthetic.
Shingle Roofing
GAF Timberline HDZ architectural shingles with StrikeZone nailing area. The highest-selling shingle in North America. Impact-rated to UL 2218 Class 4 when installed with the full GAF Roof System. Our Mooseheart crews install Timberline in the full system configuration to qualify for Golden Pledge warranty. ASTM D3462 and D7158 Class H certified.
Flat Roofing
We repair and install flat roofs on Mooseheart homes, garages, commercial buildings, and additions. TPO for reflectivity, EPDM for budget, PVC for chemical resistance near restaurants and kitchens.
Commercial Roofing

Gutter Installation
Improperly sized gutters cause fascia board rot and foundation erosion. We calculate gutter capacity using the rainfall intensity formula: roof square footage x pitch factor x rainfall rate (inches/hr for Mooseheart). Standard 5" K-style handles 5,520 sq ft of effective roof area. Bigger roofs or steeper pitches need 6" gutters with 3x4" downspouts. We hang with hidden hangers screwed into rafter tails every 24".
Roof Inspection
Our Mooseheart roof inspections cover shingles, flashing, pipe boots, ridge vent, soffit, gutters, and decking condition. You get a written report with photos. If nothing's wrong, we tell you that.
Emergency Roof Repair
After we tarp and secure your roof, we document everything for insurance purposes. Photos, measurements, damage descriptions. Your adjuster gets a professional report, not a handwritten note.
Skylight Installation
VELUX FS fixed skylights and VS vented skylights installed with EDL flashing kits for profile roofing. The flashing integrates with your shingle courses per IRC R903.2 weather protection requirements. We cut the opening, frame the curb with doubled 2x lumber, install the skylight with factory sealant, and weave the flashing into the existing shingle field. Leak-proof when done right. And we do it right in Mooseheart.
